Thank you for visiting Logo1 - Fine Art for the Mountain Community. You are invited to visit us any time you are in western North Carolina. In fact, visit often! The displays are frequently changed in order to highlight a particular artist, such as the Nottely River Series by Al Garnto, or to demonstrate a special theme, as we will do to celebrate the summer solstice with art works that illustrate the changing seasons of nature and our own lives.

Logo_1 is located just off the town square in historic downtown Murphy, NC.

For a limited time American photographer Doris Ulmann (1882 - 1934) will be celebrated at the gallery. There will be ten photographs on display. The photographs are on loan from the private collection of the Oland Family. Three of the ten photographs will be offered for sale to interested collectors, whether individuals or institutions.

June 21 - July 4 Solstice!

Make plans to celebrate the Summer Solstice with us here at David's! On June 21st, the gallery will showcase both monochrome and wildly colorful artworks that illustrate change and mystery in our lives and in nature. The Solstice Celebration will begin at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 21st with refreshments and live music. BYOB and your own spontaneous musical celebration are also welcomed.

July 14 - August 4 Sandy Webster - Solo Exhibition

"Evidence of Experience" presents, in one location, three of this outstanding artist's highly evocative multi-media series. Included will be "Inner Navigations," "Bird Stories," and the exquisite egg tempura miniatures of "The Fading Farm Scene." Adding to the exhibit will be a number of 3-dimensional works, including "The Expedition of Lewis and Clark," and "We Arrive." See www.sandywebster.com for a marvelous preview of Sandy's work.

August 22 - September 12 Jane Causey - Solo Exhibition

"Up the Road" is a new series of oil on canvas landscapes capturing the artist's sense of place right around her mountain home in southwest North Carolina. Also during this show the visitor will see earlier landscapes and still life paintings by Ms. Causey, as well as recent portraiture. Upon the artists' return to the mountains here early in 2006, the gallery is especially pleased to be chosen to exhibit this extensive collection of Jane Causey's work, especially the premier of the new landscape series, "Up the Road."

November 10 - November 25 Alan R. Young - Solo Exhibition

Highly acclaimed wildlife artist Alan Young is presented, with an extensive collection of both black and white and color artworks on display. Mr. Young's beautiful and precise wildlife drawings are sought after by major collectors and nature organizations around the country. For an extra special preview treat, sign up for one of Alan's private workshops, www.alanryoung.com, or for his weekend class at the John C. Campbell Folk School on July 8 - 10 this year. www.folkschool.org.
